| Sometimes we help
each other by showing how we could get more out of the pictures by
applying some processing to it. To
make sure everyone is happy with how and when this happens, lets stick
to the following guideline:
If you do not want anyone to alter your picture, please say so by adding 'NM' (no modifications) to your post - no one will be offended! On the other hand, if you do not mind someone having a go, please say so by adding 'MW' (modifications welcome) to your post - then everyone will know you won't mind! And if someone posted pictures without adding either 'MW' or 'NM', please ask in the thread so that everyone else can see whether the person would be happy with it or not. Remember, some of us mind, some of us don't, some of us just don't think about it when posting the picture. And some pictures by the same person might be open to modifications, while others may not, so always better to be safe than sorry! The modified pictures are only to be displayed in the original thread, and not be accessible to the 'public' anywhere else. So either have it somewhere in a folder where it isn't directly linked to, or if you have no other choice, please clearly attribute it to the original owner. And if it is your picture, why not add a copyright notice which will still be there when someone has worked on it? Phew! Obviously, copyright remains with the photographer! If you feel that anyone has violated your copyright, please get in touch with me and I will get in touch with the relevant parties. It's always better to try to sort this out in a peaceful manner. |
